March into April

A sunny, mid-March hike over a swelling stream and through a snowy amphitheater.

We also stopped by the kids' old preschool stomping grounds. I wondered if they were reminiscing about simpler times or glad that they were growing up and doing more.

During a no-school-for-Kindergarten day, Finn and I went to the Como Zoo and Conservatory.

It was Relay For Life time again recently in River Falls! Two years ago, we weren't able to participate because Julia was in the hospital. Last year, we participated but without a team. This year we were a team of four. Next year, our hope is to go a little further and get more involved.

This year, Julia really wanted to stay up all night (she made it all but 3 hours last year). Her and I ended up sleeping for about two and a half hours, but it was much needed and allowed us to get up early and keep going. Amanda and Finn left around 11pm and came back to get us and have breakfast in the morning.

For the opening ceremony and the survivor's walk, Julia walked again with our neighbor, Lee. It's so nice for Julia to have a friendly (and known) face with her during those opening events.

We had our little camp set up in the middle of the gym. The kids struck a pose, of course.

Julia has a special friendship with one of the Kids' Club workers at school. She was thrilled to see Lauren throughout the evening (they were keeping tabs on each other's (non)sleeping).
